January 11–13, 2012 – performances of The Invisible Army, Cambridge, England – The World War II Soviet deportations of Polish civilians, and the subsequent creation and military accomplishments of the Polish Second Corps (also known as “Anders Army”), was the subject of The Invisible Army, an original play researched, written and performed by students of Ely College, Ely, England, in cooperation with the Keystage Arts Company, Cambridge, England.

Mike Levy of the Keystage Arts Company (who is a playwright with a passion for history and a Fellow in Holocaust Education with the Imperial War Museum, London) emailed Alice Waydenfeld Faintich before the performance run of the play: “Your father’s book [The Ice Road] helped to inspire the young people involved in the play and we have acknowledged that in the programme. We owe him a debt of gratitude.”

Following the performance run, Mike emailed Alice to say that The Invisible Army was a huge success. He told her that Brian Harvey (co-director of the play and former deputy head teacher at Ely College) had dedicated the performance on Thursday, January 12, 2012 to her father, Dr. Stefan Waydenfeld, who had passed away in late October 2011.
