Flyer recd2017 12 1 rAquila Polonica president Terry Tegnazian and actor Marek Probosz presented two performances of Aquila Polonica’s two-person multimedia program about Captain Witold Pilecki and the resistance movement at Auschwitz  on the Main Stage of the beautiful Chandler Center for the Arts. The event was co-sponsored by the East Valley JCC, the Polish Consulate in Los Angeles, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute operating under the culture.pl brand; the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, and others.

Mr. Probosz did dramatic readings from Aquila Polonica’s award-winning book The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery, while Ms. Tegnazian did transitional narration accompanied by projected photographs, maps and three short video segments. The first performance, Thursday evening, January 11, 2018, was open to the public with an audience of approximately 500 people. The second, Friday morning, January 12, 2018, was a special performance for approximately 1,000 junior high and high school students from four nearby school districts.

East Valley JCC Rabbi Michael Beyo and his staff were warm and gracious hosts during Ms. Tegnazian and Mr. Probosz stay in Chandler for these events.
